DESERT MOUNTAIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SITE - WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FACILITY UPDATE:
In June of 2011 the Deer Valley Unified School District entered in to a cell phone tower easement to place a cell phone tower on the Desert Mountain Elementary School site. The school was selected as an alternative site to other areas within Desert Hills, that were deemed by many to be less desirable. Although the easement has been in place for six years, the cell phone tower was not built - until now. Recently, Deer Valley Unified School District received word that an agreement had been reached between the owner of the easement and a cell phone provider, so the cell phone tower would be constructed. Construction has already begun and it is expected to be completed by the end of May or beginning of June.

Never leave a child, or pet inside an unattended vehicle! On a day that is just 72 degrees Fahrenheit, the temperature inside a car can increase by 30 to 40 degrees in an hour, and 70% of this increase occurs the first 30 minutes. Heat stroke may occur when body temperature passes 104 degrees Fahrenheit. That overwhelms the brain's temperature control, causing symptoms such as dizziness, disorientation, agitation, confusion, sluggishness, seizure, loss of consciousness, and/or death. Distractions such as talking on the phone can cause some people to forget their kids in the car. Try to eliminate things that draw your attention away from your child. Another tip is to keep a stuffed animal in the car seat when your child is not with you. When you place your child in the car seat, place the stuffed animal in the front seat with you as a reminder that someone is in the back!
