I know that there has been much discussion and concern regarding the major plan amendment posted for the town center element of the Daisy Mountain Area Plan (previously the New River Area Plan). As your Maricopa County Supervisor, I have requested that the planning department withdraw the proposed major general plan amendment.
After speaking with so many of you over the past year and hearing a variety of ideas and concerns regarding elements of the current Daisy Mountain Area Plan, my intent is to review the plan in its entirety with numerous opportunities for community input before supporting any amendments or an entirely new plan.
As we move forward with updating the Area Plan, know that the process takes time and nothing will be recommended or decided without ample involvement from the community. Also know that this process usually does not create unanimous agreement, and will require compromise and civil discourse throughout the discussion.
As we develop a timeline for this process, I will be sure to share it with all who are interested. If you would like to be included on the notice list, please email my office at District3@mail.maricopa.gov or call us at (602) 506.7562.
I look forward to working with you and hearing your ideas as we work through this process.
As always, please feel free to contact my office with questions.
